7 Days Faculty Development Program on “Contemporary and Innovative Pedagogy & Essential Skills for Educators” was organized by MUIT Lucknow Campus in online mode from 24th July to 31st July 2023.

 The world witnessed disruptive changes in 21st century, leading to paradigm shift especially in education sector; and educators are at the forefront of this ongoing transformation. With the implementation of NEP 2020 and ongoing National Research Foundation, accompanied by advancements in AI & other technologies, it becomes imperative for us to continuously evolve our teaching pedagogy to meet the demands of the ever-changing market. The objective of this FDP program was to update the educators on these requirements and the associated skills. To fulfill this objective, the FDP was designed such as to include a wide range of themes, with the primary goal of empowering participants and enhancing teaching processes to align with the new vision and the latest technological tools; which was achieved by the valuable contribution of expert speakers from diverse fields for the technical sessions.

The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Dr. Mahadeo Jaiswal (Director, IIM Sambalpur) as the Chief Guest whose insightful teachings we shall cherish for long. We were also much honored to have the presence of Hon’be Chancellor Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava who emphasized on the importance of imbibing evolving pedagogies for effective teaching with continuous update of the latest trends and technologies in the field.

For the valedictory Ceremony, we had the honour of having Dr. Praveen Pachauri (Director, UP Institute of Design, AKTU Noida Campus, Noida) as the esteemed Chief Guest who beautifully summarized the essence of holistic education and significant role of educators through his real life experiences. “A teacher serves as a leader for their students”. We were honored to listen to the Presidential Address of our Hon’ble Director General, Prof. (Group Capt.) O. P. Sharma, on “TEACHER: the Mentor the Leader” in the Valedictory Session. It was highly inspiring, giving us insights into the way towards becoming visionary mentors for our students.

The program was also attended by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dean Academics of both campuses (Dr. Sapan Asthana and Dr. Trapty Agarwal), Dy Dean Academics, Deans/ Dy Deans and faculty members of all schools of both campuses.

 There were a total of 11 technical sessions wherein we were honored to have esteemed speakers of the likes of Ms. Vijaya Ghosh (Data & AI Consultant from Accenture), Mr. Deepesh Divakaran (an Edu Tech Entrepreneur), and Dr. Trapy Agarwal from MUIT Noida, under the Tech Theme. During their sessions, they discussed about various tech tools, cutting-edge AI products like Chat GPT and others. In the Project Writing Theme, we were honored to have Prof. Dharmendra Singh (Drone Research Center, IIT Roorkee) who emphasized the significance of writing projects that encompass novelty and practical applications, especially for societal benefits. During the session on NEP Implementation, we were honored to have Prof. Kinnary Thakkar (Head, Department of Commerce, University of Mumbai) who discussed the challenges and possibilities of effectively managing and achieving outcome-based education in line with the objectives of NEP 2020. Under Data Analysis theme, Prof. Alpana Srivastava (Amity University, Lucknow) introduced us to various data handling methods and data visualization techniques, enriching participants’ understanding in the field. Under Soft Skills theme, Prof. Pratima Khandelwal (Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru), Mr. Abhishek Agarwal, (Project Manager) and Dr. Monal K. Desai (Teaching Associate, Writing Studio, IIT Gandhinagar) delivered engaging and interactive sessions on the importance and intricacies of soft skills for educators.

We recognize the power of the mind as the driving force behind all transformations. A very special, insightful and informative session by Ms. Aditi Srivastava (National Coordinator, TM India) enlightened, especially the external participants, who were introduced to Transcendental Meditation for first time, a precious gift from His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji. The TM practice showcased its effectiveness in cultivating a clear vision and fostering a stress-free mind.

We had over 300+ registered participants from various institutions, and approximately 60% of the participants were from external institutions, like, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, AIIMS Patna, NIT Trichy, SGBAU- Amrabati, Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune), University of Delhi, JBIT Dehradun, Sharda University, Amity University, MIT Moradabad, Jai Narayan Mishra PG College, COER University Roorkee, IIT Jodhpur, VIT Vellore, Central University of Karnataka , Banasthali Vidyapith, Graphic Era Hill University and many more.
