Education would be much more effective if its purpose were to ensure that by the time they leave school, every boy and girl should know how much they do not know and be imbued with a lifelong desire to know it.
This is a wise dictum, which Ajay Prakash Shrivastava, Chancellor, Maharishi University of Information Technology, feels is important for educators to perpetuate thinking minds. A devout disciple of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who, in the second half of the 20th century, took the world by storm with his mastery and teachings of Bhavateet Dhyan (Transcendental Meditation), Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a student of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math Peeth, just like Prakash’s father, Shri Jageshwar Prasad Shrivastava. While doing his B.Sc., Prakash started devoting his time to learning Maharishi’s philosophy of Vedic science. He would travel with him and would even cook food for him. "Maharishi was a great soul. I am fortunate that while I was with him, I explored the unlimited potential of Transcendental Meditation (TM).
