National Science Day 2025

Objective: The objective of organizing the National Science Day celebration at the Department of Science (MSOSH), MUIT Lucknow Campus was to honour the significant contributions of Sir C.V. Raman and to highlight the importance of scientific innovation in India. This event, celebrated annually on February 28th since 1987, aims to inspire and empower the youth to take on leadership roles in the scientific community. By focusing on this year's theme, "Empowering Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat," the program sought to emphasize India's rising prominence on the global stage in science and to encourage young minds to contribute towards a developed India through advancements in science and technology.
Participating Students: A total of 23 students took part in the competitions, reflecting a strong interest in the event. Among them, 16 students displayed their artistic and scientific abilities through poster making. The Rangoli competition also saw vibrant participation, with 7 students showcasing their cultural awareness.
Event Details: To commemorate this significant occasion and to enhance students' understanding of the intricate social, cultural, and ethical dimensions inherent in the field of science, a series of engaging competitions were thoughtfully organized. Among the highlights was the Rangoli Competition, which showcased the artistic talents of the participants, reflecting their creativity and ability to convey deeper meanings through this traditional art form. The illustrious winner of the first prize, Ravi Shekhar Tripathi from the School of Science and Humanities, a B.Sc. Agriculture student in his sixth semester, demonstrated exceptional skill and imagination in his creation. He was followed closely by Rakhi Yadav, a second-semester B.Sc. Biotechnology student, who claimed the second prize with her captivating design. Drishti, a second-semester B.C.A. student, secured the third prize, impressing the judges with her vibrant colours and artistic expression.
In addition to the Rangoli Competition, a Poster Making Competition was held, allowing students to express their understanding of scientific themes and issues creatively. Priya Madheshiya, a second-semester B.Sc. Chemistry student earned the top honour for her compelling poster that effectively merged visual appeal with intellectual substance. She was trailed by Abhay Dwivedi, also a second-semester B.Sc. Biotechnology student, who took home the second prize for his innovative approach. Shubhi Mishra, another second-semester student pursuing a B.Sc. in Agriculture, completed the winners' list by achieving the third prize, reflecting her thoughtful interpretation of the competition's theme.
Students’ Feedback: The event garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from both participants and the audience alike, indicating a strong engagement with the themes at hand. The collective feedback served as a testament to the impact of such initiatives, underlining the need for continued exploration and discussion in these vital areas of study.
