Introductory TM session at CBMR

 

Organised by: Maharishi University of Information Technology in collaboration with CBMR, Lucknow

Objective: The objective of the session was to introduce and share the principles, scientific foundations, and wide-ranging benefits of Transcendental Meditation (TM) with the students and researchers of the Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR). The activity was conducted under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT) and CBMR, aimed at fostering academic, scientific, and cultural collaboration.

Participating audiences (Students/ employees/ others): 05 Scientists from different dept., employees of CBMR (15), research scholars and students of various streams form CBMR (24)

Event Details:

A session on Transcendental Meditation was conducted at the Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR), Lucknow, on April 28, 2025. Welcome address and program initiation was done by Dr. Alok Dhawan, Director, Centre of Bio-medical Research.

The session was led by the Ms. Aditi Shrivastava, Advisor, Science of Consciousness, MUIT.

Introduction, details, scientific aspects, social aspects and various benefits of TM were shared to the audience (involving Scientists from different department, employees of CBMR, research scholars and students of various streams). Session was found informative, interactive and includes unique elements, session was followed by number of queries raised from audience side which showed their extreme interest in TM. Session was extremely fruitful & successful as it was competed with research-oriented discussions with Dr. Alok Dhawan, Director, CBMR, who showed extreme interest in TM technique and also willing to initiate various researches on TM as mentioned below:

Comparative study of TM technique with other meditation techniques

  1. Effect of TM on respiration rate, as rate of respiration is related with process of aging
  2. Gender related research on TM
  3. Study of various parameters in students pre & post TM practice.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Shikhar Verma, whose efforts ensured the smooth execution and academic success of the event.
