Lecture Series on

 “Innovative Ideas and Methods in Social Science and Humanities”

Organised by: Department of Humanities (MSOSH), Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC Cell

Objective: The Department of Humanities, in association with the IQAC Cell, organized a Lecture series on “Innovative Ideas and Methods in Social Science and Humanities” on 29 April 2025 in the University Auditorium. The event aimed to inspire analytical thinking, promote sustainability awareness, and prepare participants for the data-driven challenges of the future.

Participating Students: Over 100 Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from Maharishi School of Science and Humanities.

Event Details: The program commenced with a traditional Guru Pujan, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Rupam Singh, Dean, MSOSH. The invited resource persons were then felicitated with tokens of appreciation.​ Dr. Neeraj Jain, Dean Academics, MUIT Lucknow Campus, delivered motivational remarks, emphasizing the critical role of innovation in academic teaching and research. The forenoon session featured a keynote lecture by Prof. Alpana Srivastava, Professor and Program Director, Amity University, Lucknow. Her talk, titled “Data Analytics in Today’s Scenario”, focused on the increasing relevance of data analysis in strategic planning, the growing career prospects in the data analytics field, and methodologies for managing large-scale data effectively.​

In the post-lunch session, Prof. P. K. Ghosh, Professor, Department of Economics, University of Allahabad, presented a compelling lecture on “Decoding Panchamrit: India’s Pathway to Net Zero Emissions”. His talk addressed India’s environmental commitments, with a focus on solar energy, carbon emission reduction, and the broader vision of sustainable development.​ Both sessions were followed by interactive Q&A rounds, allowing participants to engage actively with the speakers and clarify their queries. The program was skillfully moderated by Dr. Vijay Srivastava, Associate Professor, Department of Humanities. Dr. Sarita Verma extended a formal vote of thanks, appreciating the valuable contributions of the speakers, guests, organizers, and participants.​ The presence of Dr. Sandhya Sinha, Dean, MSOBM, and Dr. Sapan Asthana, Dean Student Welfare (DSW), underscored the university's commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence.​ The event concluded with the National Anthem and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the lecture series.

Students’ feedback: Students found the lecture series highly informative and engaging. The session on data analytics provided valuable insights into strategic planning and career opportunities, while the discussion on India's pathway to net-zero emissions deepened their understanding of sustainability and environmental challenges.
