Tree Plantation to Promote Harit Yoga

Objective:The Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness (MSOSOC) in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized tree plantation drive to promote Harit Yoga and to encourage environmental stewardship, enhance ecological balance, and integrate yogic principles with sustainable living through active participation in a tree plantation drive at the university level.

Participants: Students from various disciplines and teaching staff.

Event  Details: The Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness (MSOSOC) conducted the Tree Plantation drive on the sports ground near the Engineering workshop. The event commenced at 3:30 PM with a welcome speech by Mr. Ved Prakash, Head of Department, MSOSOC, MUIT Lucknow Campus

In his address, Mr. Prakash highlighted the critical role of trees in sustaining life and promoting environmental well-being. He emphasized that tree plantation embodies the fundamental principles of Harit Yoga-a lifestyle rooted in living in harmony with nature. "When we plant a tree, we are not merely adding greenery; we are nurturing life," he stated. Mr. Prakash also urged students to embrace environmentally responsible practices and take proactive steps toward preserving the planet.

Following the address, faculty members and students participated in the plantation of various tree species, including Neem, Vat Vriksh, Amla, Bel, Gulmohar, Anjeer, Jamun, and Kadamb.

Students’ Feedback: The initiative was enthusiastically received by the students, who found it both educational and empowering. It offered practical insights into environmental sustainability and helped students understand how small actions such as planting a tree can contribute significantly to environmental preservation.
