“Anti-Ragging Day/Anti-Ragging Week – 2025”

Venue: Auditorium, MUIT Lucknow Campus

Objective: Under the guidance of the UGC, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow, enthusiastically observed "Anti-Ragging Day/Anti-Ragging Week – 2025" on August 12, 2025. The event, meticulously organized by the Anti-Ragging Committee in association with IQAC, was held in the Auditorium of the MUIT Lucknow Campus in offline mode, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment while reinforcing the university’s commitment to eradicating ragging in all its forms.

Event Details: The observance of Anti-Ragging Day commenced with an inspiring address by Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Vikas Kumar Shukla, who emphasized the vital importance of fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. He urged students to stand united against ragging, uphold values of empathy and cooperation, and contribute to creating a harmonious academic community. Following this, Dean Academics, Prof. (Dr.) Neeraj Jain delivered a motivational speech highlighting the role of mutual respect and understanding in character building. She encouraged students to cultivate a balance between academic pursuits and personal integrity, underscoring that a healthy campus culture is essential for holistic development. The event was further enriched by the insightful words of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh, who reaffirmed the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and stressed the collective responsibility of students and faculty in ensuring a secure and nurturing learning environment. Concluding the inaugural session, Chief Proctor, Dr. Pawan Kumar Dixit, reiterated the institution’s unwavering commitment to preventing ragging through proactive measures and continuous awareness programs, urging students to be vigilant and to stand as role models for their peers. He also introduced the Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad of MUIT, Lucknow, and informed students about the Anti-Ragging Portal.

A short video was played showcasing the serious impact of ragging on both juniors and seniors, to help students understand the gravity of the issue. The day was filled with creativity and enthusiasm, marked by the Poster Presentation and Slogan Writing competitions, both of which witnessed impressive participation from students across various disciplines. In the Poster Presentation category, the winners were: Shanya (B. Sc. Biotech) – First Place, Ipshita (B.A. III Sem) – Second Place and Shreya Singh (B.Sc. V Sem) – Third Place. For the Slogan Writing competition, the winners were: Gaurav Shukla (B. Pharm VII Sem) – First Place, Akhand Pratap Singh (BA III Sem) – Second Place and Ankur Gupta (BCA III Sem) – Third Place.

The program was attended by students, Deans, and faculty members from all schools of the Lucknow Campus. The Anti-Ragging Day celebrations concluded on a high note, with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Vijay Srivastava, who also congratulated the committee members for the successful organization of the event.
