79th Independence Day Celebration
Date of Event: 15 August 2025
Organised by: Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow (in coordination with IQAC)
Objective: The 79th Independence Day Celebration, organised by the Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow, on 15th August 2025, aimed to instill patriotic values among students, commemorate India’s freedom, and inspire the youth towards nation-building in line with the vision of the university.
Participants: Faculty, staff, and students.
Event Details: The event was held near the New Reception Area, MUIT, Lucknow, with Brigadier Shitanshu Mishra as the Chief Guest. The celebration began at 9:00 AM with the Flag Hoisting and National Anthem, followed by Lamp Lighting, program introduction, and felicitation of the Chief Guest. Dr. Vikas Kumar Shukla (DSW) addressed the gathering, explaining the significance of the different colours of the National Flag and reminding the youth of their duties towards the nation. The Registrar highlighted Operation Sindoor as a testament to India’s commitment to peace and humanity, praising the armed forces’ bravery beyond borders, while also crediting the University's progress to the united efforts of the MUIT family. In his inspiring address, Brigadier Shitanshu Mishra urged students to uphold their ideals—correcting adversaries through wisdom and compassion or defeating them with courage and determination to channel their energy into nation-building. He concluded by highlighting Quantum Consciousness as a concept deeply rooted in the Indian Knowledge System and reflected on the legacy of saints. Brigadier Mishra, Managing Editor of the bi-annual Journal for Eternal Wisdom and Contemporary Science (IJEWCS), graciously presented two volumes of the publication to the university.
The celebration also featured vibrant student performances, including poetry recitations, speeches, and singing by Swarnima Shukla, Harshita Singh, Suhani Sharma, Akhand Pratap Singh, Urvashi Shukla, Naincy Rawat, and Supriya Tiwari. Vanshika Tiwari and Ipshita Chandra anchored the program. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Neeraj Jain. The event ended with sweet distribution, leaving the audience filled with patriotic pride and joy. The celebration was attended by the Controller of Examinations, Chief Proctor, Dean /Dy Dean of Research, Deans/Dy Deans of Schools, faculty, staff, and students.
Students’ feedback: Students deeply appreciated the Chief Guest’s inspiring insights on history, Quantum Consciousness, and youth action, sharing that the program reinforced their patriotism and sense of responsibility.
