Tablet Distribution Program (Fourth Phase)
Organised by: Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus, under the “Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.”
Objective: The objective of the program, conducted by Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus on July 23, 2025, was to digitally empower students under the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
Participating Students: 237 students from various departments of the university.
Event Details: On July 23, 2025, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus, successfully conducted the fourth phase of the Tablet Distribution Program under the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s “Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme,” a key component of the broader “Digi Shakti” initiative. The event was graced by senior university officials, including Registrar Dr. Girish Chhimwal, Dean Academics, Dr Neeraj Jain, and University Nodal Officer Dr. Sapan Asthana. The event commenced with a formal welcome and inauguration ceremony, during which Dean Academics Dr. Neeraj Jain described the initiative as a reflection of the university’s firm commitment to enhancing students' technological capabilities and aligning education with the global digital shift. Echoing this vision, Dean,-MSOET, Dr. Kalyan Acharya emphasized the role of digital training in equipping students with practical skills essential for navigating the modern world.
Students, carefully shortlisted from various departments, received tablets after undergoing a documented eligibility verification process. The distribution was conducted in a transparent, student-friendly manner with well-planned logistical arrangements, including help desks, digital registration counters, identity verification stations, and dedicated seating areas to ensure smooth coordination.
To support students in adopting the new technology, on-site technical assistance was provided. Faculty members and trained volunteers guided recipients through device setup, app installations, Wi-Fi connectivity, and user login procedures. This hands-on support was designed not only to facilitate access but also to build students' confidence in using digital platforms for learning and skill development.
The active participation of Dr. Sarojini Singh, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Mr. Anand Singh, Dr. Rahul Mishra, Mr. Akash Singh, Dr. Shweta Vikram, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar Mishra, and other faculty members underscored the significance of this digital empowerment drive. The smooth execution of the program was made possible through the efforts of Institute Nodal Officer Dr. Vijay Srivastava and stage coordinator Mr. Daljeet Singh.
This initiative exemplifies the university’s broader vision of creating a digitally inclusive academic environment, in step with the state’s digital transformation goals. By empowering students with essential digital tools, the university continues to promote academic excellence, self-reliance, and future readiness in a technology-driven global economy.
Students’ feedback: Students expressed their appreciation for this opportunity, emphasizing how the tablets would help them attend online classes, access digital resources, prepare for competitive exams, and participate in virtual learning activities. Many students, especially from economically weaker backgrounds, shared that this initiative was a major boost in their academic journey and digital inclusion.
