5-day FDP on AI/ML and GenAI

Date of Event: 23rd July 2025 – 2nd August 2025

Organised by: Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology & GUVI-HCL in association with IQAC

Objective: Under the umbrella of MOU signed with GUVI-HCL, the Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology (MSOET) has launched a new B. Tech program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) powered by GUVI-HCL. In alignment with this initiative, a 5-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was organized to prepare faculty members for the effective implementation of the new curriculum. The primary objective was to equip the faculty with the necessary technical knowledge, pedagogical strategies, and practical tools related to AI and ML. The FDP also aimed to ensure that faculty members are well-prepared to address student queries, support academic planning, and deliver the program with confidence and clarity from its inception.

This FDP was organised by Maharishi School of Engineering Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, & GUVI-HCL in association with IQAC from July 23 to August 2, 2025.

Participants: Two nominated faculty members (Dr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav and Mrs. Pooja Shukla) of Computer Science and Engineering.

Event Details. The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) commenced with an inaugural session held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The session was graced by Mr. Bala Murugan SP, Co-founder of GUVI, who served as the chief guest for the occasion. The Dean Academics of Maharishi University of Information Technology, both Noida and Lucknow campuses, also addressed the gathering. The Dean of MSOET, Dr. Kalyan Acharjya and other team members of GUVI-HCL including mentors joined the inaugural session.

During the session, participants were warmly welcomed and provided with an overview of the FDP’s structure and objectives. Following the inauguration, faculty members proceeded to attend their respective domain-specific sessions as per their chosen tracks.

The FDP featured a comprehensive blend of lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice sessions, fostering experiential learning aligned with current industry expectations. Faculty members continued their learning in for the remaining days of the FDP, engaging in domain-specific training, interactive discussions, and practical mini-projects.

The FDP on AI/ML & GenAI focused on foundational and applied concepts, including Python programming, machine learning workflows, and the implementation of Generative AI in educational and industrial contexts. Trainers emphasized hands-on learning and encouraged participants to apply concepts through project-based assignments, enhancing their understanding and confidence.

The 5-day Faculty Development Program jointly organized by MUIT, GUVI-HCL proved to be a well-structured and highly impactful initiative. It enabled faculty to remain current with emerging technologies and methods, and empowered them to apply those skills in classroom teaching, research, and professional practice. The program effectively supported MUIT’s mission of continuous improvement in academic quality and faculty capability enhancement.

Feedback: Feedback collected from participants revealed high levels of satisfaction with the content, delivery, and trainer expertise. Many faculty members expressed appreciation for the hands-on nature of the sessions and the relevance of the topics to modern academic and industry environments. The use of real-world examples and structured mentoring was particularly appreciated. Recommendations included organizing advanced-level follow-ups and extended project-based FDPs.

Acknowledgements: Gratitude to team of GUVI-HCL, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Prof. Bhanu Pratap Singh), Registrar (Dr. Girish Chhimwal), Dean Academics (Dr. Neeraj Jain, Lucknow Campus), and Dean MSOET (Dr. Kalyan Acharjya) for their active support and encouragement
