Virtual Lab Workshop

Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, has organized Virtual Labs Workshop for Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering Students on dated 01st – 02nd March, 2024.  Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow is designated as Nodal Centre for Virtual Lab in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India.

Virtual Labs project is an initiative of Ministry of Education, Government of India under the aegis of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT).

The resource person, Mr. Chetan & Mr. Harshul Khurana has long association with Virtual Lab development in Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, provided a comprehensive briefing to the students, offering detailed insights that these virtual experiments are designed to simulate real laboratory environments and provide students with hands-on experience in conducting experiments and analyzing data. They also emphasized the importance of Virtual Labs, key features of Virtual labs, role of students and faculty, available labs in virtual platform, scope for new lab developments and internship and collaboration opportunities for students and faculty/institute. The session was managed by Mr. Daljeet Singh and Dr. Vaishali Singh.

Objectives of the workshop:

The main objectives of this collaborative workshop are listed below:

  • To get benefits from remotely accessed good lab‐facilities and/or instruments.
  • To identify the gap areas for the development of new experiments in our institute in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India under the Virtual Lab project.
  • Adopting the New Education Policy

Expected major outcomes:

  • Complete learning management system within established Virtual Lab in our institute where the students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self-evaluation
  • Collaborative work atmosphere with IIT Roorkee, under Ministry’s project in develop a methodology for the development of new lab experiments by identifying gap areas
  • Internship/training opportunities for students
