“Deeksharambh – Student Orientation Programme”

Objective: The Maharishi School of Science, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus, organized Deeksharambh 2025 – Student Orientation Programme for newly admitted Science (B. Sc. & M. Sc.) students of the 2025–26 academic session on 04 September 2025. The aim of this Induction Programme was to welcome and orient newly admitted students, familiarize them with the university’s academic environment, introduce them to faculty members, and inspire them for their forthcoming journey in higher education.

Participating Students: Newly admitted students of B. Sc. & M. Sc.

Event details: Deeksharambh 2025 – Student Orientation Programme commenced with registration and document verification by the Registrar’s Office and Programme Coordinators. The programme commenced with the traditional Guru Puja and Ganesh Vandana. Dr. Nishant Kumar, Dean of MSOS, delivered the welcome address highlighting the vision of the University and the importance of Transcendental Meditation. This was followed by inspiring video messages from the Hon’ble Chancellor, Director General, Vice-Chancellor, and Registrar. The Chief Guest, Prof. Anil Mishra, former Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Lucknow, shared motivating words that encouraged students to adopt discipline, dedication, and lifelong learning.

Cultural performances, including a dance by Shanya Srivastava and a play by students, added liveliness to the event. Dr. Pawan Dixit, Chief Proctor, introduced the anti-ragging guidelines and shared details of the proctorial board, while alumni inspired the freshers by sharing their personal experiences. Faculty members were introduced by Dr. Chintamani Tiwari, while Dr. Sneha Verma briefed students about classes and coordinators. Students from the previous semester with the highest attendance, along with a few alumni, were also felicitated to inspire and motivate the new batch.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kanchan Awasthi, Deputy Dean (MSOS), followed by the National Anthem, a group photograph, and refreshments.

The programme provided a motivating start to the academic year, leaving students and parents inspired and reassured about their journey at MUIT. The event saw the participation of over 170 students and parents in the University Auditorium.

Student’s feedback: Students expressed enthusiasm for the warm welcome, valuable guidance, and cultural showcase. They appreciated the motivational address and alumni interaction as key highlights of the day.
