“Deeksharambh 2025- Student Orientation Programme”

Objective: The School of Agriculture at Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus, conducted "Deeksharambh (Session 2025-26) Student Induction Programme" on September 4, 2025. The objective of the Deeksharambh was to formally welcome the new students of B. Sc (Hons) Ag., M. Sc. (Ag) Agronomy & M.Sc. Horticulture (Fruit Science), programs to Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow. The program aimed to familiarize students with the university's environment, academic and administrative staff, rules and regulations, and provide a positive and engaging start to their academic journey.

Participating Students: Newly admitted students of B. Sc (Hons) Ag., M. Sc. (Ag)Agronomy & M. Sc. Horticulture (Fruit Science) of the Maharishi School of Agriculture.

Event Details: The induction program commenced with registration, document verification, and the distribution of welcome kits. 58 students registered and attended the event. Following this, a ceremonial Guru Puja was conducted to officially inaugurate the program. The Chief Guest, Shri Bhanu Prakash Ram (Director, Horticulture & Food Processing Department, Lucknow) was felicitated on the occasion with a patka and momento.

The event continued with a variety of cultural performances, including a Ganesh Vandana dance by B. Sc (Hons)Ag. 3rd semester students Harshita Gaur, Palak Singh and Prachi Mishra; classical dance by Aditi Rai, heartfelt shayari by Tanishik Verdhan & poems presented by Akash Gupta, Gyan Prakash Yadav, Abhinandan Gupta, and Ishita Srivastava.

The welcome address was given by Dean-MSOA Dr. Dheeraj Yadav. The students received a warm welcome blessing through video messages of university dignitaries, including Hon’ble Chancellor, Director General, Vice Chancellor, and Registrar. Dr. Kalyan Acharjya, Deputy Dean Academics, shared motivating words that encouraged students to adopt discipline, dedication, and lifelong learning. and Dr. Pawan Dixit, Chief Proctor, briefed students on anti-ragging guidelines. The program also included a skit on university rules by MSOA students and an informative presentation about MSOA led by Mrs. Pragya Tiwari, Deputy Dean with emphasis of MUIT’s distinctive approach of blending academic excellence with practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM).

The Chief Guest Shri Bhanu Prakash Ram, addressed the students with inspiring thoughts. He talked about the future and many opportunities in the field of agriculture. He said that agriculture is an evergreen & important field that will always be needed. He encouraged students to use modern technologies & bright new ideas into farming. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Bhupesh Kumar Mishra followed by the National Anthem, group photographs and refreshments.

Students’ feedback: The program was well-received by the students, offering a comprehensive and engaging introduction to the university. The combination of ceremonial events, official blessings, and cultural performances created a welcoming and memorable experience.
