Industrial Visit to AMUL-BANAS Diary (Lucknow Plant) Arjunganj, Lucknow

Organised by: Maharishi School of Sciences in association with IQAC

Objective: An industrial visit to AMUL-BANAS diary was organised by Maharishi school of Sciences (MUIT Lucknow Campus) in association with MIRC and IQAC on 30^th August 2025, with aim to provide students with practical exposure to dairy processing, quality control, and industrial operations, thereby linking their academic learning with real-life industry practices.

Participating Students: B.Sc. Zoology and B.Sc. Biotechnology final year students.

Visit Details: The visit started with an introductory session on plant operations, safety rules, and AMUL’s cooperative model. Students then visited the main processing units, where they observed milk collection, quality testing, pasteurization, homogenization, and chilling processes. They also learned about automated packaging systems that ensure hygiene and efficiency, as well as cold chain storage methods for safe distribution. In addition, students visited specialized sections such as the Frozen Paneer Unit, Condensed Milk Section, and Quality Assurance Laboratories, gaining exposure to modern machinery, strict quality standards, and innovations in dairy production.

Throughout the visit, plant experts interacted with the students, explaining hygiene practices, sustainability efforts, and the use of technology in dairy processing. They also highlighted how the dairy industry supports food security, provides rural employment, and promotes consumer health. This visit was coordinated by faculty members- Dr. Sneha Verma and D. Kirti Singh.

Students’ Feedback: The students expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction with the visit. They liked seeing how dairy products are processed and learning about hygiene, safety, machines, and quality checks. The expert demonstrations were very useful, and many students felt motivated to choose careers in food technology and related fields.
