in association with IQAC

Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC, organized an industrial visit to Shalimar One World, Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow on 13th September 2025. The visit was organised to provide Civil Engineering students with practical exposure to modern construction practices, project management techniques, and advanced technologies used in large-scale real estate development projects.

Participants: The visit was conducted for B. Tech and Diploma students for Civil Engineering branch of 3rd and 5th semester.

Visit Details: Mr. Virendra Prajapati, General Manager of Shalimar One World, warmly welcomed the students and initiated the session with an overview of the project layout, planning, and execution strategies. His insights helped students understand how large-scale real estate projects are conceptualized and managed effectively.

This was followed by a guided site tour, where students gained first-hand exposure to various aspects of construction. They observed foundation and structural works with live demonstrations of piling techniques, reinforcement details, and concrete placement—emphasizing the significance of strength and durability in high-rise buildings. In the formwork and shuttering systems section, students were introduced to modern modular shuttering methods that not only save time but also ensure safety and precision in construction.

During the material handling and safety practices segment, students learned about the practical use of tower cranes, hoists, and site safety protocols, which are critical for smooth operations and accident prevention. The finishing works segment enabled them to witness masonry, plastering, flooring, and quality-checking processes that determine the final look and reliability of the structures.

The session also covered project management practices, where students were introduced to scheduling tools, quality assurance measures, and resource optimization techniques—factors essential for delivering projects efficiently and within deadlines.

In the expert interaction, Mr. Karunesh Kumar Srivastava (Vice President – Planning) encouraged students to stay updated with emerging technologies, maintain a professional attitude, and continuously upgrade their skills to thrive in the competitive construction sector. The training coordinators, Mr. Yashwant and Mr. Rajesh, further shared valuable insights on the latest advancements in construction technology, the importance of safety measures, and environmental compliance. They also guided students on potential career opportunities in the construction industry and emphasized the key skills required to excel in this domain.

The visit was successfully coordinated by Dr. Gaurav Shukla (Assistant Professor), Mr. Anupam Kumar Gautam (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Daljeet Pal Singh (Assistant Professor).

Feedback: The industrial visit to Shalimar One World proved highly beneficial and informative for the students. They gained practical knowledge of construction processes, site management, and safety protocols. This exposure bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, enhanced their understanding of modern building technologies, and inspired them for future careers in civil engineering.
