Deeksharambh 2025 - Student Orientation Programme

Organised by: Maharishi School of Humanities (MUIT, Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC

Objective: Maharishi School of Humanities (MUIT Lucknow Campus), in association with IQAC, successfully organized ‘Deeksharambh 2025 – Student Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the School on September 1, 2025. The programme aimed to provide an orientation about the University, introduce faculty members, highlight academic and disciplinary guidelines, and motivate students for a fruitful academic journey.

Participating Students: A total of 159 newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Maharishi School of Humanities.

Event Details: The Student Induction Programme, ‘Deeksharambh 2025’, began with the registration and document verification of newly admitted students. The formal session started with Guru Puja by TM teachers and dignitaries, followed by Ganesh Vandana dance by Ankita Gupta. This was followed by a brief presentation on the University and the School by Dr. Vijay Srivastava, who introduced the students to the vision, mission, and unique emphasis of MUIT on integrating academic excellence with Transcendental Meditation (TM). The Chief Guest, Dr. Madhurima Pradhan (Former Head, Department of Psychology, Founder Director, Happy Thinking Laboratory, University of Lucknow, Lucknow) was felicitated on the occasion with a patka and momento.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Rupam Singh. Video messages from the Hon’ble Chancellor, Director General, Vice-Chancellor, and Registrar were shown, each emphasizing the importance of discipline, innovation, and holistic development. A welcome message by Dr. Neeraj Jain (Dean Academics) further reinforced the University’s commitment to academic rigor and student welfare.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Madhurima Pradhan, addressed the gathering with her motivational words, urging students to remain focused, resilient, and determined in their pursuit of success. She enriched her speech by citing examples from the Bhagavad Gita and the life of Raja Bhoj, emphasizing the values of wisdom, duty, and leadership. Dr. Pradhan highlighted how, through the practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM), students can cultivate inner strength, clarity of mind, and a balanced personality, thereby becoming better individuals dedicated to the service of the nationAdding a cultural dimension to the programme, poems, songs, and dances were performed by Tusha Sharma, Urvashi Shukla, Pranjal Sharma, Sania Bano, Sania Saeed, Anamika, Shristi Singh, and Shristi Gupta, which highlighted their talent and enthusiasm.

 Dr. Pawan Dixit (Chief Proctor), sensitized the students about Anti-Ragging Guidelines and the Proctorial Board’s role in ensuring a safe and supportive campus environment. Dr. Kanu Priya Verma introduced the faculty members of the school, followed by Dr. Sarita Verma, who provided a clear briefing on class schedules, timetables, and mentoring support. Vatsala Chhetri, an alumnus from the school shared her memories of her graduation. Dr. Ram Prakash Dixit (Deputy Dean, MSOH) proposed the Vote of Thanks.

 Vanshika Tiwari and Ipshita Chandra anchored the programme, which formally ended with the National Anthem, followed by refreshments. A group photograph was also taken. Throughout the day, discipline management was efficiently handled by Dr. Manoj K. Singh and Ms. Ayushi Dwivedi, ensuring smooth coordination of all activities. Overall, the event was a harmonious blend of tradition, motivation, cultural expression, and academic orientation, marking a memorable beginning for the newly admitted students.

Students’ feedback: Students found the motivational talks and cultural activities highly engaging, and the sessions on faculty interaction and anti-ragging guidelines helpful in building clarity and confidence.
