World Wildlife Week

Date of Event: 3rd to 7th October 2025

Organised by: Maharishi School of Sciences in association with IQAC

Objective: Maharishi School of Sciences, MUIT Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC, celebrated World Wildlife Week with the theme “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet” from 3rd to 7th October 2025. The week-long celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of conserving biodiversity and promoting harmony between humans and nature.

Participating Students: Students from all schools, MUIT Lucknow Campus

Event Details: The event featured engaging competitions including Essay Writing, Nature Photography, and Naturalistic Model Making, where students from different schools of the university participated enthusiastically, showcasing their creativity, environmental awareness, and commitment towards wildlife protection. In the Essay Competition, Isha Nirmal (B.Sc. V Sem) secured the first position, followed by Khushi Maurya (B.Tech V Sem) and Sachin Pandey (B.Sc. Agriculture III Sem) in the second and third positions respectively. In the Nature Photography Competition, Shreya Singh (B.Sc. V Sem) won first place, while Aditi Agnihotri (B.Sc. V Sem) and Sakshi Mishra (B.Sc. V Sem) secured second and third positions. In the Naturalistic Model Competition, Shreya Singh (B.Sc. V Sem) again secured the first position, followed by Sakshi Mishra (B.Sc. V Sem) in second place and Prashansha Awasthi (B.Sc. V Sem) in third place. The Nature Photography competition was judged by Dr. Dheeraj Yadav (Dean, MSOA) and Mr. Ved Prakash (HOD, MSOSC). Naturalistic Model Making was evaluated by Dr. Vijay Srivastava (Associate Professor, MSOH) and Mrs. Pragya Tiwari (Dy. Dean, MOSA).

The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony to appreciate and reward the winners for their excellent performances. Dr. Nishant Kumar, Dean, Maharishi School of Sciences, also emphasized the importance of wildlife conservation and encouraged students to actively contribute towards preserving biodiversity. The event was successfully coordinated by faculty members (MSOS)- Dr. Sneha Verma, Dr. Kanchan Awasthi, and Dr. Madhu Prakash Srivastava. The celebration reflected the collective spirit of our students and faculty towards a sustainable future and the protection of our planet’s precious wildlife.

Student Feedback: Students shared that the World Wildlife Week Celebration 2025 was an inspiring and educational experience. They appreciated the opportunity to participate in various competitions that enhanced their awareness of biodiversity and conservation. The event motivated them to contribute towards protecting wildlife and maintaining ecological balance.
