Industrial Visit to Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), Chinhat, Lucknow
Date of Visit: 4th October, 2025
Organised by: Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology
Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, successfully organized an industrial visit to Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) Chinhat, Lucknow (U.P.) on 4th Oct 2025. The main objective of the industrial visit to UPNEDA is to provide students with practical exposure to renewable energy technologies and their applications.
Participating Students: Diploma students of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, along with B. Tech students of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the 3rd and 5th semesters.
Visit Details: On reaching the UPNEDA, Chinhat, campus the students were welcomed by Mr. Tika Ram (Project In-charge, UPNEDA), who provided an overview of UPNEDA’s functioning, training activities, and the importance of industry-oriented learning for future engineers. Then the students observed solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, battery backup systems, solar water pumps, and control and monitoring units. They gained practical insights into the installation, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy systems, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world applications.
Ms. Namrata Sen (Trainer) conducted an interactive session explaining the working of solar PV systems, on-grid and off-grid integration, and maintenance procedures. She enhanced students’ understanding of solar, biomass, and other sustainable energy systems, while also promoting awareness about energy conservation and renewable energy initiatives.
Thereafter students learnt about various government schemes and policies supporting renewable energy adoption and were informed about the career and training opportunities offered by UPNEDA for engineers, scientists, and administrative professionals. The industrial visit proved to be an enriching experience, providing hands-on exposure to real-world renewable energy applications and inspiring students to explore careers in the renewable energy sector.
The visit was successfully coordinated by MSOET faculty members - Dr. Adesh Kumar Mishra and Mr. Bhupendra Singh.
Students’ Feedback: The visit offered valuable exposure to industry practices, enabling students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. They gained hands-on knowledge of renewable energy systems such as solar panels, inverters, and water pumps, along with insights into their operation and installation. The experience enhanced their understanding of solar, biomass, and other sustainable energy systems, promoted energy conservation awareness, and inspired them to pursue careers in the renewable energy sector.
Acknowledgements: We express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Tika Ram (Project In charge) and Ms. Namrata Sen (Trainer) for their guidance during the visit. We also extend our thanks to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Prof. Bhanu Pratap Singh), Registrar (Dr. Girish Chhimwal), Dean Academics (Dr. Neeraj Jain, Lucknow Campus) and Dean MSOET (Dr. Kalyan Acharjya) for their continuous encouragement.
