Launch of “Yoga for Students” Program

Organised by: Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness (MUIT Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC

Objective: The Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness (MUIT, Lucknow Campus) in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) officially launched ‘Yoga for Students’ program on 3rd October, 2025 with the inauguration ceremony. The objective of this initiative is to promote the holistic development of students by integrating yoga into their daily routine. Through regular yoga practice, the initiative aims to enhance students’ physical health, mental well-being, emotional balance, and concentration. It seeks to cultivate self-discipline, reduce stress and anxiety, and foster a positive attitude towards life and learning.

Participants: The inauguration witnessed active participation from 40 students from both the Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels, along with many faculty members.

Event  Details: The program was inaugurated on the sports ground, MUIT Lucknow Campus, at 7:30 AM. The session commenced with a brief introduction and motivational address by Dr. Vikas Kumar Shukla, Dean Student Welfare (DSW), and Dr. Sapan Asthana (NSS Unit 1 Program Officer) of MUIT Lucknow Campus. They emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into students’ daily routines for better focus, emotional balance, and overall health.

The yoga session was conducted under the guidance of trained yoga instructors Mr. Ankit Kumar and Ms. Anju Singh, who led the participants through the general introduction of yoga followed by importance of yogic practices along with the benefits and contra indications of postures. Session included basic practices like joints movements, stretching and yogasana (Tadasana, Trikonasana, Katichakrasana, vrikshasana, etc.), basic breathing practices and relaxation practice.

The programme is an initiative by Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness (MUIT Lucknow Campus) and being led by Mr. Ved Prakash (HOD, MSOSOC, MUIT Lucknow Campus) under the guidance of Hon'ble VC Prof. B. P. Singh, Registrar Dr. Girish Chhimwal, Dean Academics Dr. Neeraj Jain, and Dean (MSOSOC) Dr. Mudita Agarwal.

Students’ Feedback: The students appreciated the initiative and expressed their enthusiastic willing in continuation of regular yoga sessions as a part of their daily college schedule. They believe that yoga is an enjoyable and beneficial activity that supports both their personal well-being and academic success.
