Blood Donation Camp & Breast Cancer Awareness Session

Organised by: Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of MUIT Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC and in collaboration with Health City Trauma Center and Max Healthcare

Objective: The Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSOPS) of MUIT Lucknow, organized a dual health initiative - a Blood Donation Camp and a Breast Cancer Awareness Session on 28 October 2025, aimed at promoting community health consciousness, encouraging voluntary blood donation, and spreading awareness regarding early detection and prevention of breast cancer among students and staff.

Participating Students: B. Pharm and D. Pharm students actively volunteered, assisting in registration, coordination, and awareness activities, enhancing their practical and social learning experience.

Event Details: A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized in collaboration with Health City Trauma Center & Superspeciality Hospital and Max Healthcare at the MUIT auditorium. A total of 40 donors, including students, faculty, and staff members, voluntarily donated blood to support the noble humanitarian cause, with all safety and hygienic protocols strictly followed. The camp aimed to promote social responsibility and awareness about the importance of regular blood donation in saving lives. Along with the Blood Donation Camp, consultations by Dr. Riti Agarwal (Dietician) and Dr. Akansha (Dental Surgeon) were also available at the MUIT Auditorium, providing participants with valuable guidance on nutrition, oral health, and overall wellness. Following the camp, a Breast Cancer Awareness Session was conducted from by Dr. Sumedha Gupta (MBBS, MS - Obstetrics & Gynaecology). Dr. Gupta shared valuable insights on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and early detection of breast cancer, emphasizing self-examination and timely medical consultation. The session encouraged participants to adopt preventive health practices and spread awareness regarding women’s health.

Students’ Feedback: Students found the event highly informative and inspiring. They expressed that the Blood Donation Camp encouraged a sense of social responsibility and compassion, while the Breast Cancer Awareness Session enhanced their understanding of women’s health and preventive care. The overall experience provided valuable exposure to community health initiatives and teamwork.
