Report on

“Vigilance Awareness programme at Gram Sabha”

Date of Event: 1st November 2025

Organised by: NSS Units of Maharishi University of Information Technology in association with IQAC

Objective: The NSS units of The Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT) campus successfully hosted a “Vigilance Awareness Program at Gram Sabha” on 1st November 2025. The primary objectives were to create essential awareness among villagers in Allu Nagar Diguria regarding the adverse impact and menace of corruption; to educate the community about the official mechanisms and processes available for reporting corruption; to conduct interactive sessions that would encourage collective responsibility and open dialogue with the villagers.

Participating Students: NSS students and Allu Nagar Diguria villagers

Event Details: The programme was successfully organized in Allu Nagar Diguria Village by the National Service Scheme Units of the University on November 1, 2025. The initiative was headed by faculty members Dr. Sapan Asthana and Dr. Ashish Nath, along with 50 enthusiastic university students. Under this program more than 500 villagers were sensitized. The awareness efforts commenced with a dynamic Vigilance Awareness Rally organized within the village, where students carried impactful banners and placards featuring slogans such as “Say No to Corruption” and “सतर्क रहें, भ्रष्टाचार रोकें,” which effectively attracted the attention of residents and encouraged mass participation.

Following the rally, an open dialogue and interaction was conducted in a Gram Sabha, allowing villagers to openly share their concerns and experiences related to corruption. During this interactive session, Dr. Sapan Asthana and the student team thoroughly explained what constitutes corruption, identified everyday situations where it might occur, and stressed the vital role citizens play in reporting wrong practices. A key activity included the dissemination of important contact information, where the team distributed pamphlets containing essential helpline numbers for reporting corruption, including CVC Helplines, State Vigilance Department contacts, District Complaint Redressal Cell, and online complaint platforms. Villagers received detailed briefings on how to effectively file complaints and were reassured about the confidentiality provided by whistle-blower protection mechanisms.

Feedback: The outcomes of the “Awareness Gram Sabhas” were highly impactful, and the feedback received from both the participating students and the villagers was extremely positive. Villagers expressed deep appreciation for the structured initiative, acknowledging that it was the first time such a comprehensive awareness programme on corruption had been conducted in their locality, which strongly motivated them to act responsibly and raise their voice against unethical practices.
