Educational Visit to Kisan Mela (Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya)

Objective: An educational visit to Kisan Mela (Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya) was organized by Maharishi School of Agriculture (MUIT Lucknow campus) in association with IQAC on 8th October 2025 with aim to provide practical exposure students on various crops and Technology (Production Practices, Research and Post-harvest Technology) thereby linking their academic learning.

Participating Students: Students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and M.Sc. Horticulture I Sem.

Visit Details: The visit began with an introductory session on the identification of various crop varieties developed by Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology (ANDUAT), Kumarganj, Ayodhya.

During the Kisan Mela, various renowned organizations and institutes including ICAR–Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research (IISR), Dhanuka Seed Company, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of ANDUAT, and several pesticide companies had set up informative stalls showcasing the latest advancements in crop improvement, seed technology, plant protection, and sustainable agricultural practices.

In addition, leading organisations such as IFFCO, KRIBHCO, College of Veterinary Science, College of Agriculture, College of Fisheries, and College of Community Science in ANDUAT Ayodhya campus Kumarganj also displayed their stalls, presenting their contributions and innovations in the field of modern and sustainable agriculture.

Students also visited the College of Horticulture & Forestry, Kumarganj, where they learnt about several emerging agricultural technologies. Throughout the visit, scientists and professors interacted with the students, explaining innovative concepts such as multiple cropping systems, smart fruit production technologies, and disease-resistant varieties.

This visit was coordinated by Dr. Dheeraj Yadav (Dean, MSOA) and Dr. Sharvan Kumar (Assistant Professor, MSOA).

Students’ Feedback:  Students expressed great enthusiasm and satisfaction with the visit. They found the exposure to new technologies, improved crop varieties, and expert demonstrations highly informative and motivating. The visit helped them connect classroom learning with practical applications and inspired many to pursue careers in agricultural research and development.
