National Pharmacy Week

Date of Event: November 21st & 22nd, 2025

Organised by: Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MUIT Lucknow Campus), in association with IQAC

Objective: The National Pharmacy Week was celebrated on 21st and 22nd November 2025 by the Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MUIT Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC. It aimed to highlight the evolving role of pharmacists in healthcare delivery, strengthen academic engagement, and promote scientific creativity among students. The initiative also aimed to encourage students to enhance their knowledge, communication skills, and awareness regarding modern pharmacy practice, vaccine advocacy, and healthcare advancements.

Event Details: On 21st November 2025, a Guest Lecture and a Poster Presentation Competition was organised to mark the National Pharmacy Week. The Guest Lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Bharat Mishra (Director, Institute of Pharmacy, Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow), on the theme “Evolving Role of Pharmacist and Readiness in Vaccine Advocacy,” during which he highlighted the pharmacist’s crucial role in public health, vaccination awareness and counselling, strengthening community healthcare systems, staying updated with emerging healthcare trends, and maintaining professional readiness in vaccine advocacy and immunization programs. The session inspired students to understand their expanding responsibilities in promoting patient well-being and healthcare literacy. After the lecture, a Poster Presentation Competition was held, providing students an opportunity to showcase their creativity, scientific knowledge, and communication skills in pharmaceutical sciences, and the day concluded with a vote of thanks.

On 22nd November 2025, an Essay Writing Competition was organized to encourage students to present their ideas and analytical abilities on themes related to pharmacy practice and public health, The theme of the essay competition was “Digital Pharmacist Interventions in Increasing Vaccine Uptake”. A Valedictory Ceremony followed, where winners of both the Poster Presentation and Essay Writing Competitions were awarded certificates, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nidhi Srivastava (Professor and Dy Dean, MSOPS). The winners of the Poster Presentation Competition were: First Prize – Heena Bano & Group (Hina Parveen, Zaira Hasan, Mo. Kaif, Mo. Shanoo); Second Prize – Ravi Prakash; Third Prize – Swarnima Shukla. The winners of the Essay Writing Competition were: First Prize – Swarnima Shukla (D. Pharm 2nd Year); Second Prize – Khushi Shukla (D. Pharm 2nd Year); Third Prize – Kumkum (D. Pharm 1st Year).

Student’s Feedback: Students appreciated the platform provided by MSOPS to enhance their academic abilities and professional confidence through insightful lecture and the competitions.
