National Unity Day Celebration – 2025

Organised by: Maharishi School of Humanities in association with NSS and IQAC
Objective: On 31st October 2025, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus, in association with NSS and IQAC, celebrated The National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, and to promote the ideals of unity, integrity, and national harmony among students and faculty members.
Participants: Faculty and students from all Schools.
Event Details: The celebration began with the Unity Oath at 9:30 AM, reaffirming the participants’ dedication to unity, honesty, and national strength. It was followed by a vibrant “Run for Unity” at 10:00 AM on the university sports ground, reflecting the collective spirit and enthusiasm of the participants, administered by Dr. Sapan Asthana, NSS Program Officer, Unit I, who urged everyone to remain honest, vigilant, and united for the nation’s progress. The oath ceremony reinforced the spirit of national integrity, civic responsibility, and collective harmony. Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor reflected on the ongoing conflicts and wars across the world, including neighbouring countries, and appealed to students to stay united, uphold peace, and foster a sense of brotherhood and national integrity.
The lecture session commenced in the auditorium with a flower offering ceremony, followed by a warm welcome address by the Dean, MSOH, and words of motivation by Dean Academics. A thought-provoking lecture on “अखण्ड भारत की अवधारणा: सरदार पटेल और राष्ट्रीय एकता” was delivered by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Pandey, Assistant Professor, MSOH. He highlighted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s remarkable role in unifying the nation and shaping the vision of Akhand Bharat. Mr. Pandey eloquently connected Patel’s ideals of national integration, unity, and federal harmony with the contemporary challenges and aspirations of Viksit Bharat. During his address, he emphasized that the concept of Akhand Bharat is not merely geographical but deeply rooted in India’s civilizational, cultural, and spiritual ethos, which continues to inspire generations.
The event concluded with a summarization of the lecture by Dr. Vijay Srivastava (Associate Prof. MSOH), vote of thanks by Dr. Ram Prakash Dixit (Dy. Dean MSOH), followed by the National Anthem and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the program. The day stood as a celebration of national pride, unity, and collective strength, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
Students’ feedback: Students expressed that the celebration was both inspiring and educational. They appreciated the lecture and the Vice-Chancellor’s address, stating that the event deepened their understanding of national integrity and the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Many shared that participating in the Unity Run and Oath Ceremony filled them with a renewed sense of pride, responsibility, and togetherness as citizens of India.
