 “Poetry and Speech Competition”

 In observance of

Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji

Date of Event: 24th December 2025

Organised by: Literary Committee (MUIT Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC

Objective: In compliance with Letter No. 977–81/2025–26 dated 19/12/2025, received from the Higher Education Department, Lucknow Region, Uttar Pradesh, the Literary Committee, MUIT Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC organised a Poetry and Speech Competition on 24 December 2025 in the University Auditorium, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, as part of  University’s academic and cultural activities.

The primary objective of the competition was to remember and honour the role of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, his outstanding contribution to Indian democracy, national integration, good governance, and foreign policy, and to inspire students and citizens with his ideals of ethical leadership, inclusive development, and democratic values.

Participating Students: Students from different Schools of MUIT Lucknow Campus.

Event Details: The programme commenced with a formal introduction by Dr. Manoj Singh (Convener of the event), who briefed the audience about the significance of the occasion and the objectives of organising the Poetry and Speech Competition in honour of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, a visionary statesman, renowned poet, and exemplary leader. This was followed by a motivational address by Dr. Vijay Srivastava (Associate Professor, MSOH) who inspired the students by emphasizing the importance of literature, poetry, and oratory in shaping responsible citizens and nurturing creative, ethical, and socially conscious thinking among the youth. His address encouraged students to express their thoughts with confidence, clarity, and a sense of social responsibility.

Subsequently, the Poetry and Speech Competition was conducted, wherein students from various schools actively participated and showcased their poetic creativity and oratorial skills. The participants presented poems and speeches reflecting the life, ideals, nationalism, and literary contributions of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, demonstrating commendable expression, depth of thought, confidence, and creativity, which made the event intellectually enriching and engaging. The competition was judged by faculty members Mr. Ajay Kumar and Mr. Shikshant Bhatt based on content, expression, clarity of language, confidence, and overall presentation. In the Poetry Competition, Vanshika Tiwari (B.A. III Semester) secured the First Prize, Vineet Maurya (B.Sc. III Semester) won the Second Prize, and Darshika Singh (B.Sc. I Semester) bagged the Third Prize. In the Speech Competition, Ansh Trivedi (M.A. I Semester) secured the First Prize, Vaibhav Shrivastava (B.B.A. I Semester) won the Second Prize, and Sampat (M.A. I Semester) secured the Third Prize. The event concluded with encouraging and inspiring words from the Dean Academics, Dr. Neeraj Jain, who appreciated the efforts of the participants and organizers and emphasized the importance of such cultural and literary activities in the holistic development of students. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh.

Students' Feedback: The students expressed that preparing poems and speeches helped them develop a deeper understanding of patriotism, democratic values, and effective expression.  Many participants felt that the programme provided a valuable platform to enhance their speaking skills, creativity, and self-confidence. They appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the life, ideals, and literary contributions of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji.
