Lecture Series -2 on

 “Innovative Ideas and Methods in Social Science and Humanities”

Organized by: Maharishi School of Humanities (MUIT Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC

Objective: On 20 August 2025, Maharishi School of Humanities (MUIT Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC organised  Lecture Series 2 on “Innovative Ideas and Methods in Social Science and Humanities” that aimed to expose students and faculty members to innovative tools, ideas, and interdisciplinary methods that enhance teaching, research, and academic development in the domains of Social Sciences and Humanities. The event sought to inspire analytical thinking, promote sustainability awareness, and prepare participants for data-driven future challenges.

Participating Students: Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the School of Humanities, Science, and related disciplines.

Event Details: The program commenced with a traditional Guru Pujan, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Rupam Singh, Dean, (MSOH). The invited resource persons were then felicitated with tokens of appreciation.​ Dr. Neeraj Jain, Dean Academics, (MUIT Lucknow Campus), delivered motivational remarks, emphasizing the critical role of innovation in academic teaching and research.

In the first session, Dr. Ajeet Kumar Singh (Assistant Professor – Hindi, Sant Kavi Baba Baijnath Government Degree College, Barabanki) delivered a lecture on “Hindi Kavya mein Rashtreey Chetna”, highlighting how Hindi poetry has reflected and nurtured nationalistic sentiments. Poets like Bharatendu Harishchandra, Maithili Sharan Gupt, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Makhanlal Chaturvedi, and Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ infused their verses with patriotism, sacrifice, and a call for freedom. Hindi poetry has not only been a medium of beauty and emotion but also a vehicle of national awakening and unity.

 In the second session, Dr. Neeranjali Sinha (Historian and Regional Coordinator, UPRTOU, Lucknow) spoke on “Bhartiya Swatantra Aandolan aur Rashtreey Chetna”, emphasizing the crucial role of the Indian freedom struggle in shaping a collective national identity. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Jawaharlal Nehru inspired the masses with ideals of truth, non-violence, sacrifice, and courage. The struggle for independence became a symbol of collective strength, where every sacrifice contributed to the larger dream of a free and self-reliant India.

The program was moderated by Dr. Vijay Srivastava, Associate Professor,  Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor, provided an extended summary of both sessions. Dr. Kanu Priya Verma, Associate Professor, extended a formal vote of thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the lecture series. The presence of Deans of Schools, Deputy Deans, and faculty underscored the university's commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence.

Student Feedback ​: Students found the lecture series highly informative and engaging, with the session emphasizing the importance of cultural roots of nationalism through the lens of History and Literature.
