Industrial Visit to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Lucknow (U.P)

Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, in association with MIRC and IQAC, organized an industrial visit to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on 25th September 2025. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with real-world insights into the functioning of a leading IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and to understand the working environment, career opportunities and expectations from fresh graduates entering the IT industry.
Participants: The visit was conducted for final year students of BCA and MCA.
Visit Details: The industrial visit to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Lucknow offered students valuable exposure to the professional corporate environment of one of India’s leading IT companies. Students were welcomed with stringent security checks and verification processes, which highlighted TCS’s commitment to maintaining a secure and professional workplace.
The office infrastructure was impressive, with multiple floors dedicated to different operations. The students had the opportunity to visit the Offshore Development Center (ODC), where employees work on global projects. They also gained an overview of the advanced technological setup and modern workplace facilities that enable smooth project execution on a global scale.
During the visit, students gained first-hand experience of the disciplined, collaborative, and continuous learning culture that TCS fosters. The professionalism and positive demeanor of the employees left a strong impression, reflecting the company’s emphasis on ethics, teamwork, and work-life balance.
The visit not only broadened the students’ understanding of corporate functioning but also emphasized the importance of soft skills alongside technical expertise. Students learned about the significance of TCS’s work culture and values in shaping careers and received practical insights into preparing for recruitment exams and interviews.
The visit was successfully coordinated by Dr. Gouri Shukla and Mr. Suraj Singh.
Feedback: Students got the opportunity to visit the Offshore Development Center (ODC) at TCS Lucknow, where global projects are managed in a secure and professional environment. They observed the company’s disciplined work culture, collaborative spirit, and emphasis on continuous learning, which highlighted the importance of combining technical expertise with soft skills in the corporate world. The visit also offered valuable insights into recruitment preparation and career growth, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world industry practices and motivating them to align their skills with corporate expectations.
