77th Republic Day Celebration

Organised by: Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow (in coordination with IQAC)
Objective: On 26th January 2025 Maharishi University of Information Technology, (MUIT Lucknow Campus) celebrated 76th Republic Day to honour and commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution, celebrate democratic values, and inspire patriotism among students, faculty members, and staff through cultural, educational, and motivational activities. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Major Ashok Kumar Singh (KC, SM, NAA), a retired Indian Army officer and the first differently-abled sailor to circumnavigate the globe.

Event Details: The celebration began with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and ceremonial lamp lighting, creating a solemn and dignified atmosphere. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Neeraj Jain, Dean Academics, who highlighted that the 77th Republic Day this year commemorates the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. She emphasized that the song continues to evoke a strong spirit of patriotism and unity among citizens and inspires the nation to uphold its constitutional values. Words of wisdom were delivered by Dr. Girish Chhimwal, Registrar, who stressed the importance of discipline, integrity, and national responsibility.
Major A. K. Singh addressed the gathering wherein he stated that India is continuously building its identity on the global platform and that the nation’s progress is among the fastest in the world. He emphasized that India is advancing rapidly, and this growth requires the collective contribution and responsibility of every citizen. Highlighting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, he encouraged the youth to become self-reliant, innovative, and dedicated to national development. During the ceremony, the Chief Guest also presented copies of his inspirational book “Beyond Horizons: Around the World in a Sailing Boat”, sharing his remarkable journey of courage, resilience, and determination with students and faculty members.
The event featured patriotic speech by Vaibhav Srivastava (BBA) and Suhani Sharma (B. Sc. Ag.), poem recitation by Raj Dwivedi (B. Tech) and Dr Vijay Srivastava (Associate Professor MSOH). The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Vikas Shukla, Dean Student Welfare, and concluded with the distribution of sweets and refreshments among students, faculty members, and staff.
The programme was successfully organized by the University’s Cultural Committee and effectively anchored by Dr. Rupam Singh, Cultural Convener.
