The National Pharmacy Week celebrations at Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MUIT, Lucknow Campus, was celebrated on November 22–23, 2024, were a resounding success. The event commemorated the Scope of Pharmacy with a blend of creative competitions, and an insightful guest lecture, the two-day celebration provided an engaging platform for students to showcase their talents and enhance their professional understanding.

Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences pays heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Ajay Prakash Shrivastava and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh for their continuous inspiration and providing facilities to conduct such events for our students. We express our extreme regards to Registrar Dr. Girish Chhimwal for their critical support and motivation. At last the school wants to thank Dean–Academics Dr. Neeraj Jain and Dr. Kalyan Acharjya (Dy. Dean Academics) for their guidance to students. Deputy Dean Pharmacy Dr. Prakash Deep offered vote of thanks to all, involved in conduction of the event.

The event was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Deepika Gupta and Mr. Shubham Bhatt, with several faculty members, including Miss Anchal Srivastava and Mr. Aman Agrahari, taking responsibility for various arrangements. The event was skilfully anchored by Mrs. Ankita Mishra and Ms. Pragati Mishra. Student volunteers played a crucial role, providing exceptional support to the organizing committee throughout the event.

Day 1: November 22, 2024

Venue: Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The first day of National Pharmacy Week featured competitions that highlighted creativity and explored the diverse scope of pharmacy. These activities gave students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of various aspects of the pharmacy profession, such as healthcare, research, technology, and public service.

  1. Drawing Competition

Participants created vibrant illustrations that highlighted the broad scope of pharmacy, focusing on themes such as advancements in drug discovery, pharmaceutical care, and the vital role of pharmacists in enhancing healthcare systems globally.

  1. Slogan Writing Competition

Students composed impactful slogans emphasizing the vast scope of pharmacy. These slogans highlighted areas such as clinical pharmacy, community health, regulatory affairs, and the integral role of pharmacists in ensuring safe and effective medication use.

  1. Pharma Dialogue Writing Competition

Participants developed innovative dialogues addressing challenges and opportunities within the scope of pharmacy. Topics included emerging fields like pharmacogenomics, biopharmaceuticals, and public health campaigns, emphasizing the pharmacist’s pivotal role in interdisciplinary healthcare solutions.

  1. Pharma Poetry Writing Competition

Through poetic expressions, participants explored the scope of pharmacy, illustrating its critical contributions to healthcare innovation, patient care, and global health development. The poems creatively captured how pharmacists lead in areas such as medication management, pharmaceutical technology, and sustainable healthcare practices.

Day 2: November 23, 2024

Venue: MUIT Auditorium, Lucknow Campus

The second day of National Pharmacy Week included formal ceremonies, cultural presentations, and guest lectures from distinguished speakers. It offered attendees a comprehensive look at the evolving pharmacy landscape, focusing on Pharmacovigilance and the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the pharmaceutical industry.

Program Highlights

  1. Lamp Lighting and Welcome Dance

The event began with the dignitaries and guest speakers lighting a lamp, symbolizing               knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by a lively welcome dance performed by students, setting a festive tone that aligned with the day's theme.

  1. Welcome Addresses and Felicitations

Dignitaries, including the Dean of Academics and Dr. Shikhar Verma, emphasized the importance of innovation in pharmacy and the need for continuous learning to keep up with advancements in the field. The session also featured the felicitation of Ms. Priya Jaiswal, Director of Nemi Education and a Pharmacovigilance Expert, along with the recognition of guest speakers who are Nemi-empanelled faculty approved by IIT Indore. These experts shared their knowledge and contributed to the program's success.

  1. Guest Lectures

The highlight of the day was the series of enlightening guest lectures delivered by distinguished speakers:

    1. Ms. Aradhna Maurya (Pharmacovigilance Expert along with Clinical Research Nemi empanelled faculty approved by IIT Indore)


Topic: The Future of Drug Safety: Pharmacovigilance Practices

Aradhna Maurya discussed the crucial role of pharmacovigilance in safeguarding medication safety amidst the rapidly evolving pharmaceutical landscape. She emphasized how effective pharmacovigilance practices help minimize risks and enhance patient safety. Maurya also highlighted practical strategies for improving drug monitoring systems and stressed the significance of regulatory frameworks in shaping global pharmacovigilance policies.

    1. Er. Abhishek Bajpai (Nemi Technology Team Member)

Topic: Artificial Intelligence in Pharma: Transforming the Future of Healthcare
Abhishek Bajpai delivered an engaging lecture on the revolutionary impact of AI in the Pharmaceutical sector. Key points included the role of AI in accelerating drug discovery, improving pharmacovigilance systems, and facilitating personalized medicine. He provided examples of AI-powered tools that predict adverse drug reactions, analyze clinical trial data, and optimize patient care. The speaker also addressed challenges such as ethical considerations, data privacy, and the need for interdisciplinary expertise.

    1. Mr. Harsh Shukla (Nemi Representative)

Topic: Pharmacovigilance and Pharma AI

Harsh Shukla elaborated on the Intersection of Pharmacovigilance and AI, exploring how AI-driven analytics can enhance drug safety surveillance. His lecture highlighted the integration of AI in real-time data analysis, signal detection, and predictive modelling to mitigate risks associated with medications. He also emphasized the evolving role of pharmacists in adapting to these technologies and driving innovation in healthcare.

  1. Prize Distribution Ceremony

Winners from Day 1's competitions were recognized by dignitaries and faculty, with their creativity and intellectual contributions being celebrated. This recognition highlighted the broad scope of pharmacy and its importance in modern healthcare. National Anthem and Group Photograph

The event concluded with the national anthem and a group photograph of the winners, dignitaries, and faculty members, marking the successful end of a two-day program aimed at promoting the spirit and scope of pharmacy.

 

Certificates and Awards:

All participants and attendees were awarded certificates to acknowledge their participation and contributions to the event by Dr. Neeraj Jain (Dean Academics), Dr. Shikhar Verma (Dean Pharmacy), Dr. Prakash Deep (Deputy Dean Pharmacy). The judging panel, consisting of esteemed faculty members and experts, evaluated the various competitions and presentations.

The National Pharmacy Week celebrations at Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, held on November 22–23, 2024, showcased the expansive potential of pharmacy through engaging activities and expert discussions.

Day 1 featured creative competitions such as drawing, slogan writing, dialogue writing, and poetry, highlighting pharmacy's diverse applications in healthcare, technology, and public service.

Day 2 included a formal inauguration, cultural performances, and lectures on pharmacovigilance and AI in the pharmaceutical industry, offering valuable insights into drug safety and technology-driven healthcare innovations. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, encouraging participants to embrace innovation and contribute to global healthcare advancement.
