REPORT
The 2nd International Conference on Innovation in Science and Technology for Sustainable Development was organized to convey a powerful message of a scientific approach to equitable growth through sustainable, holistic, responsible and inclusive development, and to draw national and international participants from academia, research and industry to disseminate the latest scientific & technological achievements and exchange ideas besides for the exploration of collaborations based on recent discoveries, practical challenges encountered and effective solutions adopted in diverse areas of sciences as well as to contribute for the Sustainable Development through the advancements in Science and Technology.
The ISTSD-2024 took place on November 19, 2024, bringing together over 200 participants from diverse fields. The conference aimed to foster discussions on the latest innovations in science and technology and their potential applications for achieving sustainable development goals. The conference was inaugurated with the welcome of Esteemed Prof. Mahesh G. Thakkar, Director of the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (BSIP) Lucknow, Guets of Honor, Prof. Rana Pratap Singh, Senior Professor and honorary Director of Centre for Science and Environmental Engineering, Hon’ble Chancellor, Hon’ble Director General, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, our dignitaries and participants by Dr. Sneha Verma, followed by Guru Pujan and Saraswati Vandana. In the inaugural session, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing sustainability through science and technology while delivering an inspiring address on the role of innovation in tackling global challenges such as climatic change, Geodiversity, Conservation, disaster management and enhancing sustainable practices for our sustainable future.
We had been fortunate to bring together on this platform a galaxy of esteemed speakers from diverse academic backgrounds from around the world who graciously consented to contribute to the theme of the conference with their expertise. In this conference, 9 sessions including Plenary and keynote talks were conducted spanning 3 days of the conference. The talks were delivered by Prof. V.P. Sharma, Chief Scientist & Prof. AcSIR, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicological Research; Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Principal Scientist, CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow; Prof. R.K. Shukla, Dept. of Physics, Univ. of Lucknow; Dr. Shoe Kumar Mishra, Associate Professor, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak; Dr. D.P. Singh, Associate Professor, University of Opal Coast, France; Dr Mukesh Awasthi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow; Prof. Devdutt Chaturvedi, Dean, School of Physical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Bihar and Dr Upendra Kumar, Assistant Professor, IET, Lucknow. The speakers discussed the ongoing research in the field of science, technology and sustainability to achieve sustainable development goals via thought-provoking talks on topics such as climate resilience, green technologies, resource management and the role of policy in fostering sustainable innovation.
Apart from this, the presentation sessions of six disciplines (Life Science and Nanotechnology/ Environmental Science and Agriculture/ Chemical Science and Physical Science/ Mathematical Science/ Health Sciences and Medical Innovations/ Engineering technology and ICT) were chaired and moderated by Session Chair and Co-chair: Dr Sneha Verma, Dr Madhu Prakash Srivastava, Dr Ramakant, Dr Kanchan Awasthi, Dr Nishant Kumar, Dr Vikas Kumar Shukla, Dr Chintamani Tiwari, Dr Ashish Kumar, Prof. Nidhi Srivastava, Mrs. Pragya Tiwari, Prof. V.K. Singh and Dr. Rakesh Yadav.

The conference featured more than 70 Oral and poster Presentations of faculties, scientists, Researchers and postgraduate students who shared their latest findings in a more interactive format across various fields, including renewable energy, environmental conservation, biotechnology, sustainable agriculture and innovation in health science.
The event was concluded on the 3rd day of the conference with the valedictory session graced by Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora, Professor, Ex-Dean, School of Earth and Environmental Science as a chief guest and Hon’ble DG Prof. Group Capt. O.P. Sharma Sir as our special guest. At the end of the conference our Hon’ble Director General, Prof. (Group Capt.) O.P. Sharma Sir, blessed us with the presidential talk on “WAY FORWARD”. His address will certainly inspire us to become visionary mentors or influencers for our students. We extend our deepest appreciation to the esteemed publishers for their invaluable contributions in the form of the Proceedings of ISTSD 2024. The program was successfully organized by conveners (Dr Sneha Verma and Dr Nishant Kumar) and organising secretaries (Dr V. K. Shukla and Dr Madhu Prakash Srivastava) under the guidance and motivation of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh), Registrar (Dr. Girish Chhimwal), Senior Administrative Officer (Dr. Rajesh Singh), Dean Academics (Dr. Neeraj Jain), Dean, MSOSH (Dr. Rupam Singh) and Depuy Dean, MSOSH (Dr. Ramakant). The organizing committee team thanked all the faculty members, staff, and IT team for making this event successful.
The conference also provided ample networking opportunities, facilitating collaborations and partnerships among researchers, leaders, and policymakers. Attendees gained new perspectives on how cutting-edge scientific research and technological advancements can drive sustainable development across the globe. In closing, the conference underscored the urgent need for innovation in science and technology to address global challenges. The successful exchange of ideas and solutions highlighted the critical role of continued research and collaboration in achieving a sustainable future. The 2nd International Conference on Innovation in Science and Technology for Sustainable Development was a resounding success, providing a platform for thought leadership, knowledge exchange, and collaborative efforts towards a sustainable future.
