Report on BotFiesta 2024 at MUIT ,Lucknow

Objective: The objectives of Maharishi BotFiesta 2024 were to:

  • Promote innovation and creativity in robotics and automation technologies.
  • Provide students with practical experience through hands-on robotics competitions.
  • Foster collaboration between students, industry professionals, and academic experts.
  • Enhance students' knowledge of emerging technologies and their real-world applications.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding talent and achievements in robotics, encouraging further research and development in the field.

 

Introduction: Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Lucknow, hosted the much-anticipated Maharishi BotFiesta-2024 on 12th and 13th November 2024 at the Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology. Over 100 Teams actively participated, showcasing their skills in robotics competitions. This event brought together students, enthusiasts, and professionals to participate in various robotics competitions and seminars.

 

Day 1: 12th November 2024 – Inaugural Session and Events

The event began with a grand inaugural session at 11:00 AM on 12th November 2024, held at the MUIT Ground. The session commenced with a Gurupujan, a traditional welcome ceremony. The Hon’able Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh and The Chief Guest, Dr. Praveen Dwivedi, Additional Director, STPI, Meditech SSGPI Lucknow, delivered the inaugural address. His speech emphasized the importance of technology, innovation, and the growing role of robotics in various sectors.

 

 

Dean of Academics Dr. Neeraj Jain and Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Sapan Asthana  also addressed the gathering, sharing their insights on the future of engineering and technology. The Convenor & Robotics Head, Mr. Chetan Chaudhary, and Coordinator, Dr. Shweta Singh, thanked the guests and participants.

The inaugural session concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dean Engineering, Dr. Kalyan Acharjya marking the beginning of an exciting two-day event.

After the opening ceremony, the participants engaged in various parallel events from 12:05 PM to 1:30 PM and later from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The events included:

  • Robo Soccer
  • Robo War
  • Drone Race
  • Robo Pick & Place
  • Robo Race
  • Robo Talk

These events took place at the MUIT Ground for the practical competitions and in Seminar Room-B202 for the Robo Talk sessions. The participants showed exceptional skill and creativity in all the competitions, with many robots performing complex tasks like war simulations, soccer games, and drone races.

 

Day 2: 13th November 2024 – Final Competitions and Valedictory Session

On the second day, the competitions continued with Round 3 in the morning from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, where participants went head-to-head in the Robo Soccer, Robo War, Drone Race, Robo Pick & Place, and Robo Race categories.

In the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, the final rounds took place. This was the culmination of all the exciting and intense competitions, where the best teams and individuals showcased their skills to become the winners of each event.

The Valedictory Session was held at 4:00 PM on 13th November 2024 at the MUIT Ground, where the Hon’able Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh and Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session, Sri Arun Kumar, Regional Director, RCMA, DRDO Ministry of Defence, Government of India, gave a motivating address. The winners were felicitated and awarded for their hard work and innovation in the various robotic competitions.

Outcomes and Achievements of BotFiesta 2024: The BotFiesta-2024 event was a resounding success, achieving the following outcomes:

  • High Student Participation: many students of junior and senior level   actively participated, showcasing their skills in robotics competitions.
  • Skill Development: Participants gained hands-on experience in robotics, enhancing their technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
  • Innovation and Creativity: The event highlighted innovative robot designs and solutions in competitions like Robo Soccer, Robo War, and Drone Race.
  • Industry-Academia Interaction: Students interacted with industry experts, gaining insights into real-world applications of robotics.
  • Awards and Recognition: Top performers were awarded for their excellence, motivating continued engagement in robotics and technology.

 

Each event had its own set of challenges, and the winners displayed exceptional knowledge, design, and technical skills.

 

Conclusion: The Maharishi botFiesta-2024 at Maharishi University of Information Technology was a great success, filled with engaging competitions, insightful seminars, and an overall celebration of innovation in robotics. It not only provided a platform for students to showcase their technical skills but also encouraged learning, collaboration, and networking in the field of robotics and technology. The event concluded with the announcement of winners and the distribution of awards. It was a proud moment for all participants, coordinators, and the entire university community.
