The World Leprosy Day event held on January 30, 2025, at Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MUIT Lucknow Campus in association with IQAC, was a remarkable success. The event was organized to raise awareness about leprosy, its prevention, and treatment, with the global mission to eradicate the disease and eliminate the associated stigma.

The program commenced with Guru Pujan and progressed with a welcome note delivered by Dean-MSOPS, Dr. Shikhar Verma, followed by inspiring addresses from Dean Academics, Dr. Neeraj Jain, and Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Sapan Asthana, who shared words of encouragement and wisdom. Dr. Shikhar Verma also delivered an insightful and impactful speech on the occasion of World Leprosy Day, highlighting the significance of raising awareness and combating the stigma associated with leprosy. He stressed that "leprosy is a completely curable disease when diagnosed early."

The event featured a variety of interactive and educational activities aimed at engaging students and spreading awareness about leprosy. Participants showcased their creativity and knowledge through a poster presentation that highlighted the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for the disease. An essay writing competition, where students shared insightful perspectives on leprosy eradication, public health policies, and the role of medical professionals. Awareness presentations delivered by experts and students further enriched the educational experience by addressing both the social and medical aspects of leprosy. The competitions were judged by esteemed faculty members, ensuring fair evaluation and recognition of talent. Dr. Pavan Kushwaha and Dr. Kanchan Awasthi judged the poster presentation, Dr. Nidhi Srivastava and Dr. Manoj Singh evaluated the essay writing competition, while Dr. Ravikant Kushwaha and Dr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav assessed the awareness presentations.

Certificates and awards were presented to all participants and winners by distinguished dignitaries. In the poster presentation category, Shweta Singh (D. Pharm II Year) secured the first prize, followed by Arjun Giri (B. Pharm 4th Sem.) in second place, and Suryakant Tripathi (D. Pharm I Year) in third place. In essay writing competition, Swati Singh (B. Pharm 8th Sem.) clinching the first prize, with Devangi Awasthi (B. Pharm 6th Sem.) and Nazish Anjum (B. Pharm 4th Sem.) earning second and third prizes, respectively. In the awareness presentation category, Heena Bano (B. Pharm 4th Sem.) won the first prize, while Noor Aisa Khatoon and Priya Maurya, both from B. Pharm 4th Semester, secured second and third prizes, respectively. These accolades highlighted the students' knowledge, creativity, and dedication to promoting awareness and understanding of important health issues.

The event was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Deepika Gupta and Mr. Shubham Bhatt, with several faculty members, including Mr. Aman Agrahari, Mrs. Saumya Srivastava, and Ms. Pragati Mishra, overseeing various arrangements. Student volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of activities.
