Workshop on "CAD Tools: Hands-on-Practice"

Date of Event: 20th February, 2025

Organised by: Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology, MUIT

Objective:The Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized a hands-on workshop on  "CAD Tools: Hands-on-Practice" on February 20, 2025. The workshop aimed to enhance students' proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software by offering an immersive, hands-on experience.

Participating Students:More than 50 students from Diploma and B. Tech (Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering) attended the workshop.

Event Details:A comprehensive CAD training session was conducted by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, Head Trainer from Tech-Mech Institute, Lucknow, providing an in-depth understanding of CAD software, its interface, and its wide-ranging applications in engineering design. The session was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, helping students develop essential technical proficiency, creative problem-solving abilities, and industry-relevant skills.

The training featured hands-on practice, real-time exercises, and live demonstrations, allowing participants to engage with key CAD functionalities under expert supervision. Through step-by-step guidance and interactive learning, students explored various design principles, modeling techniques, and engineering applications, reinforcing their conceptual clarity and technical expertise. The inclusion of live query resolution ensured that doubts were addressed promptly, enabling participants to grasp complex concepts with ease.

Emphasizing real-world applications, the session highlighted CAD’s role in modern engineering, product design, and industrial applications, preparing students for professional challenges and career advancement. By working on practical design problems, participants enhanced their visualization skills, accuracy, and efficiency in design execution. The training also shed light on career benefits, industry demands, and the significance of CAD expertise in securing job opportunities within the engineering and design sectors.

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Kaylan Acharjya, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav, Mr. Anupam Kumar Gautam, Dr. Gaurav Shukla, Mr. Daljeet Pal Singh, and Mrs. Pooja Shukla, ensuring a well-organized and engaging learning experience for all participants.

Students feedback:The workshop received highly positive feedback, with students expressing enthusiasm for the hands-on learning experience. Many requested additional sessions to further develop their analytical and visualization skills. MUIT remains committed to organizing such initiatives to enhance students' career prospects in design and engineering.

Acknowledgements: The organisers extend their gratitude to Head Trainer of Tech-Mech Institute (Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Prof. Bhanu Pratap Singh), Registrar (Dr. Girish Chhimwal), Dean Academics (Dr. Neeraj Jain, Lucknow Campus) and Sr. AO (Dr. Rajesh Singh) for their active support and encouragement.
