Industrial Visit to Imperial Auto Industries Ltd., Lucknow

Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, successfully organized an industrial visit to Imperial Auto Industries Ltd., Lucknow, on March 5, 2025.

Participating Students: The visit was conducted for B. Tech and Diploma students from Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC), and Mechanical Engineering (ME) of 2nd,4th and 6th semester.

Visit Details: During the visit, students gained valuable hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing, automation, and quality control. They explored advanced production processes, robotics, and industrial automation, gaining a deeper understanding of cutting-edge technologies and career opportunities in the automotive sector.

Students had the opportunity to witness and understand real-time production processes, including:

  • Chassis and body manufacturing: Stamping, welding, and assembly of vehicle frames using CNC machines and robotic welding systems.
  • Engine assembly and testing: Precision machining of engine components, automated assembly lines, and performance testing using dynamometers.
  • Electrical wiring and electronic system integration: Installation of ECU (Electronic Control Unit), CAN (Controller Area Network) communication systems, and sensor integration for vehicle diagnostics.
  • Robotics-driven automation: Use of robotic arms for material handling, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for logistics, and AI-driven vision systems for defect detection.
  • Quality control and testing facilities: Advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, real-time monitoring with IoT sensors, and end-of-line testing to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.

The visit was successfully coordinated by, Dr. Shweta Singh, Dr. Adesh Kumar Mishra and Mrs. Pooja Shukla.

Students’ feedback: The industrial visit served as a crucial bridge between academic learning and real-world practices in the automotive industry. It provided students with valuable insights into intelligent systems in modern vehicles, equipping them with practical knowledge essential for their professional growth.

The visit was highly informative and enriching, offering a comprehensive understanding of the automotive sector. The hands-on exposure to industrial processes significantly enhanced students' academic learning and career readiness. Such experiences play a vital role in strengthening practical knowledge and preparing future engineers to tackle industry challenges with confidence.
