Industrial Visit to Tata Motors, Lucknow

Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, successfully organized an industrial visit Tata Motors, Lucknow, on March 18, 2025.The visit aimed to enhance students' understanding in advanced production processes, robotics, and industrial automation, which provided them with a deeper understanding of cutting-edge technologies and potential career opportunities in the automotive sector.

Participating Students: The visit was conducted for B. Tech and Diploma students from Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering

Visit Details: The visit began with an introduction to Tata Motors, a renowned multinational automotive manufacturing company and part of the Tata Group. The company is known for producing a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, and military vehicles. Students were given an in-depth tour of the production line, where they witnessed the meticulous manufacturing processes involved in creating various vehicle models.

During the visit, students were also briefed about Tata Motors' commitment to technology and innovation, particularly in electric vehicles and smart technology integration. The company’s advancements in electric mobility were highlighted, with a focus on the Tata Nexon EV and other electric vehicle models in their lineup. The students learned about the company's forward-thinking approach to electric vehicle production and how it is contributing to the global shift toward sustainable mobility solutions. They were able to understand how Tata Motors is leveraging cutting-edge technology to stay competitive in the evolving automotive industry.

Additionally, the students gained valuable insights into the company’s work culture and employee engagement initiatives. Tata Motors emphasizes innovation-driven leadership and offers various training programs to upskill its workforce, ensuring a safe and productive working environment. The visit also covered Tata Motors' advanced quality control and testing facilities, where non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, IoT sensor-based real-time monitoring, and end-of-line testing are employed to guarantee compliance with safety and performance standards. The visit was successfully coordinated by Dr. Shweta Singh, Mr. Bhupendra Singh, Mrs. Pooja Shukla, providing the students with a comprehensive understanding of the automotive manufacturing industry.

Students’ feedback: The industrial visit to Tata Motors proved to be an invaluable experience, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world application in the automotive industry. The students found the visit to be highly informative, offering a deeper understanding of modern manufacturing processes, intelligent systems in vehicles, and cutting-edge technologies used by one of the world’s leading automotive companies.
