Educational Visit to
Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya

Objective: The Department of Science (MSOSH), MUIT Lucknow Campus successfully organized an educational visit to Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (ANDUAT), Kumarganj, Ayodhya, on April 5, 2025. The visit aimed to update students on various ongoing research activities related to farming and farmers and to motivate the young minds to work towards the benefit of society.
Participating Students: The visit was conducted for 50 students from the B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. VI Semester, M.Sc. Horticulture (Fruit Science) II Sem., and M.Sc. (Ag.) Agronomy II Sem.
Visit Details: Upon arrival at ANDUAT, the students and staff members were warmly welcomed by Dr. Sanjay Pathak (Professor and Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry). Subsequently, Dr. Bhanu Pratap (Professor, Department of Fruit Science) and Dr. Atul Yadav (Assistant Professor, Department of Fruit Science) provided an informative overview of the university, the College of Horticulture and Forestry, and its ongoing research endeavors, followed by a guided tour of the post-harvest laboratories.
The students then visited the Main Experiment Research Station of the College of Horticulture and Forestry, where they explored the Horticulture Orchard and Vegetable Research Field. This provided valuable firsthand exposure to various fruit and vegetable varieties, including NB-4, NB-5, NB-7, NB-9, NA-4, NA-5, NJ-1, NJ-2, NJ-3, Lalit, Shweta, Gola, Narendra Shivani, Kufri Jyoti, and President, allowing them to understand their characteristics and cultivation practices.
Following this, the students visited the College of Agriculture, where they were welcomed by Dr. Pratibha Singh (Professor and Dean, College of Agriculture). Dr. Rambeer (Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology) then led a visit to the entomology laboratories, providing insights into Apiculture. The students further explored different departments within the College of Agriculture, including the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, the Department of Soil Science, Department of Microbiology, Department of Statistics, and Department of Plant Pathology, gaining an understanding of the diverse research areas within agricultural science.
The educational tour also included a visit to the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, where Dr. S.P. Singh (Professor and Incharge of Dairy Farm) welcomed the students. Here, they had the opportunity to observe various livestock breeds, such as Buffalo, Cow, Goat, Bull, Hen, and Calf, learning about their specific traits and management.
The visit proved to be a highly enriching and informative experience, effectively bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical implementation. The exposure to field practices and ongoing research projects significantly enhanced the students' knowledge, skills, and motivation for advanced learning in their respective fields. Faculty Co-ordinators Dr. Dheeraj Yadav and Dr. Bhupesh Kumar Mishra successfully coordinated the visit.
Students’ Feedback: The educational visit to Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology provided practical insights into modern agriculture, including research, post-harvest technology, horticulture, and animal husbandry. Students gained valuable exposure through sessions with experienced professors and visits to various departments, inspiring them to explore research and contribute to agricultural development.
