Visit Details: On the bright and engaging morning of April 28, 2025, students from B.A. Political Science had the enriching opportunity to visit the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha as part of an educational tour organized by the Maharishi School of Science and Humanities. After a smooth security check, the students were warmly welcomed and oriented by Mr. Shailesh Kumar, the official tour guide, who introduced them to the composite cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh.

The visit began at the Painting Gallery, where the students marveled at a detailed miniature model of the Vidhan Sabha, surrounded by grand historical paintings representing Awadhi history. This was followed by a collective photograph in front of the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh in the portico, capturing a memorable moment of the visit. The next stop was the prestigious Vidhan Sabha Library, which houses over five lakh rare books, manuscripts, and

Newspaper archives—offering the students a rare glimpse into the intellectual and political history of the state.

The learning experience was further enhanced by modern and interactive installations such as the Green Screen Room Selfie Point, a VR-powered helicopter ride, a light and sound show, and 3D holographic presentations. These features made complex legislative processes and historical narratives accessible and engaging for the students. The tour concluded with a visit to the Chief Ministers’ Portrait Gallery, which showcased the evolution of leadership in Uttar Pradesh from its inception to the present day.

The highlight of the visit was the informal and insightful conversation with the tour guide, who answered students’ queries and shared practical knowledge about the workings of the state legislature. What students initially expected to be a routine academic outing turned into a dynamic, eye-opening, and inspiring experience. The visit successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical understanding, deepening students’ appreciation for democratic institutions and governance. The visit was successfully coordinated by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Pandey.
