Bachelor of Arts or BA is an undergraduate program. It comes under the discipline of Humanities & Arts. BA is a 3 years program divided into six semesters. The School offers two programs under the Bachelor of Arts, one BA (Pass) and another BA (Honours).
BA (Pass) is the program in which the student chooses a combination of three disciplines, out of myriad disciplines (like Economics, Education, English, Hindi, History, Home Science, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology) are offered under this program. The disciplines can be chosen subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria and offered combinations as mentioned by the University. The student studies all the three disciplines in the first two years and drops one in the last year. As part of a BA program the students need to study courses pertaining to skill/ability enhnacement and language along with those for chosen discipline.
BA(Honours) program is offered in two disciplines viz., Sociology and Psychology. Under this program the student has to opt for only one discipline which he studies all through the three years of the duration of the program. He gains extensive knowledge pertaining to the chosen discipline. During the three years of this programme, the student enhances his/her ability to acquire advanced skills of analysis, to apply innovative solutions to complex problems and to develop original ideas. This program is basically designed to develop knowledge and skills required for a research in a specific area necessary for an advanced professional career.
