Maharishi University

Master of Science

Maharishi School of Science offers post-graduate program named Master of Science (M.Sc.). The M.Sc. program is offered in various Science subjects such as Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. The student may choose any of these based on the eligibility criteria of the University. This program endeavors to provide over and above the concept and basic knowledge of the selected subject. The knowledge imparted in this program is an extension of the one has learned at the undergraduate level. The program attempts to widen and deepen the thinking ability of the student so that he is able to apply the knowledge for societal problems and contribute to the development of the society. It also makes an effort to strengthen aptitude for research in basic sciences and its interdisciplinary areas. It tries to prepare the students to successfully compete for employment in academia or need based industry.  The students gain knowledge and develop skills and abilities through both theoretical and practical courses which include hands-on-training in laboratory, seminars, projects/dissertations and tours/excursions/industry visits/guest lectures etc.

The students of the Postgraduate programs get basic exposure of research through project/dissertation work which is part of their syllabus.  Besides, many workshops, hands-on training, seminars/webinars, Guest Lectures etc. are organized by the School from time to time. Different  Departments under the School also conducts workshops on technical writing skills to enhance research aptitude of the student. Students are also encouraged to enroll for summer trainings at various academic/research institutes/other related organizations to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Yes, we organize educational visits to various research institutions, industries and biodiversity parks within and outside the city/state to allow exposure to research and field environment to allow learning in natural environment. It helps them to apply their knowledge in field and also develop interest in the subject.

The eligiblity criteria for admission to postgraduate program (M.Sc.) in Science stream is B.Sc. (relevant subject) as per UGC norms.

The faculty provided notes while teaching in the class. The notes (in the form of ppt etc.), links, refrence articles etc. are uploaded on the online portal of the University which is accessible to students through their personal login ID.
