PUNYA- SMRITI OF HIS HOLINESS MAHARISHI MAHESH YOGI JI & VASANT PANCHAMI PUJAN

Homage to His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ji on His Punya- Smriti and Vasant Panchami Poojan was organized on 05th February 2022 in the auditorium of Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh under the supervision of Mr. Sapan Asthana (Dean Academics).
The program commenced with the welcome of dignitaries, faculty and staff members of the University by the host of the program, Dr. Neeraj Jain.She mentioned that it was a significant day as it was Vasant Panchami and that all were doubly blessed by His Holiness Maharishi ji and by Goddess Maa Saraswation this day as Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on this day and coincidentally, it was also Punaya -Smritiof Maharisiji. The host further apprised the audience that Vasant Panchami marked the arrival of spring and new beginning. Vasant Panchamiwas also dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of intellect, knowledge, learning, music and art. 05th February also holds further significance, especially for the MUIT family as on this day, since 2008, it is observed as Punya Smriti of Param Pujya Maharishi ji. It was 14 years that His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ji left his physical body and became one with the divine absolute. Recalling His message she told that ‘going within through Transcendental Meditation and His unprecedented contribution in the field of consciousness and education and bringing together both these worlds’. He was our first chancellor and that we continue to seek guidance from his vision of consciousness-based education.
Thereafter, the TM teachers conducted the puja to seek the blessings of Goddess MaaSaraswati and His Holiness Maharishi ji. Maa Saraswatiaartiwas sung by the Dr. Himani Kulshreshtha, Ms. Sagarika Kabra, Ms. Rishika Kaushik and Ms. Ritika Kaushik.
Hon’ble Chancellor Sh. Ajay Prakash Srivastava joined online, and bestowed his blessings and apprised the audience about the essence of Vasant Panchami and significance of Goddess Saraswati and benefits of regular TM practice in our life.
The program proceeded further with listening to the taped lecture of Maharishi ji on Maa Saraswatiand wasfollowed by Group Meditation. Later on, all the assembled staff members offered flowerstopay their reverence and seek blessings of His Holiness Maharishi ji and Goddess Maa Saraswati.
The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Sapan Asthana (Dean Academics).
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Prof. Bhanu Pratap Singh), Registrar (Prof.AkhandPratap Singh), Dean-Academics (Mr. Sapan Asthana), Deans of Schools and all faculty and staff members attended the event.
