Workshop on Virtual Labs
in Association with
Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) Mode: Blended (Offline & Online Both)

About Virtual Labs:

Virtual Labs project is an initiative of Ministry of Education, Government of India under the aegis of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). This project is a consortium activity of twelve participating institutes (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIIT Hyderabad, etc). This Labs contains a set of experiments designed for Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Chemical Engineering, Zoology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Physical Sciences etc.

Advantages:Virtual Labs do not require any additional infrastructural setup for conducting experiments at user premises. The simulations-based experiments can be accesses remotely via internet anywhere and anytime.

MUIT organized the collaborative workshop on Virtual Labs in association with IIT Roorkee on 13th May, 2022 in the two sessions, morning session for the students & evening session for the faculty members (Engineering & Sciences). Both the sessions were chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B. P. Singh & Dean Academics, Mr. Sapan Asthana and other dignitaries.

The aim of the workshop was to impart Virtual Labs Awareness/Training to the faculty members and the students. The workshop was organized in blended mode- i.e. both online and offline. The MUIT participants explored the session physically in university Auditorium, whereas external participants joined the session through Zoom & YouTube Live.

Resource Persons:

The resource persons were Er. Chetan & Er. Jasbir Singh, Technical Head Virtual Labs, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. Also Professor (Dr.) RS Anand, Professor & Principal Institute Coordinator of Virtual Labs, IITR, delivered short introductory and motivational lecture on virtual Labs during faculty session.
